Yin Yoga & Relaxation
book with Yoga Mail
Summer in Orkney is usually a busy time and we have the weather to get outside and many of us will have had a holiday or at least a little break.
We often start to see the seasons change around September. After all the excitement is passed and we settle back into our routine we can be left feeling as though we are standing at the bottom of a very steep climb towards Christmas!
Hopefully a little yin yoga can provide us with the tools you need to make the climb more comfortable and maybe even be enjoyable!
There will be a different focus for the workshop this time with an emphasis on relaxation.
The two hours will provide you with time to sit, practice some breathing techniques that can help to reduce any stress, practice postures for a body and a finally a relaxing savasana for health mind.
☯️ Saturday 9th of September 2017 in the St Magnus Centre 2-4pm. £20 per person.
☯️ Refreshments included afterwards for those with time.
☯️ Bring a blanket, pillow or bolster if you have.
☯️ Use your own mat if you prefer but I have some too.
This practice is designed to help you sit longer, and more comfortably, in meditation (or your desk!) by stretching connective tissue around the joints (mainly the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and spine). A passive practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia.
